Students are identified in five different categories for gifted and talented: intellectually, specific academic aptitude, creative thinking ability, learning ability, and visual or performing arts in grades 4 - 12.  Students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade are recommended to the Primary Talent Pool or PTP.  Students in K - 12 are recommended by parents and/or teachers. Supporting data is included with the referral and additional testing and/or auditioning may be required. Primary students remain in their general education classes with a teacher in the gifted program collaborating/consulting with the classroom teacher.

  • Grades 4-5 participate in a district-wide gifted class once weekly and/or receive school-level services.
  • Grades 6-8 are served through service delivery options selected by the school.
  • Grades 9-12 participate in seminars, honors and advanced placement classes as well as fine arts courses.
