Recently, about 75 students and advisors gathered at the Blair Center for the first ever Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) Leadership Day. In honor of National Career and Technical Education Student Organizations Month, Judge Ison declared February CTSO Month in Shelby County. Student leaders from FFA, FCCLA, FBLA, HOSA, SkillsUSA, JROTC, and VEX Robotics participated in collaboration with fellow officers, planning for the coming year, team building experiences, leadership and community service projects.
CTSO members were able to participate in the following Community Service Projects: helping at Operation Care, reading with first graders at Southside Elementary, and making & delivering fruit baskets to our Emergency Responders. Community Leaders joined us during the middle part of the day to talk with our student leaders about their leadership experiences and the opportunities available to students in Shelby County.
We would like to thank Associated Industries of Shelby County who sponsored t-shirts and Republic Bank for sponsoring lunch for the CTSO Leadership Day.
