April 14th will mark the maiden voyage of the S.S. America and the end of months of hard work for the cast and crew of the Titan Theatre production of Anything Goes. The Opening Night Gala will include dinner, live music provided by students of the Collins Band and a great show afterward. Other show dates are April 15th, 21st and 22nd and tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and children.
This Cole Porter musical has been in the works at Collins High School for over four months. The show features many of Porter's famous tunes including "You're the Top", "Blow, Gabriel, Blow", "I Get a Kick Out of You", and "Anything Goes". Set aboard the Ocean Liner bound from New York to London it follows the story of Billy Crocker who is a stowaway on the ship following his love, Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy No.13 Moonface Martin help Billy win over Hope after a number of mistaken identities and mishaps.
Featured in the cast are Jake Waford (junior) as Billy Crocker, Alicia Reeder (sophomore) as Reno Sweeney, Brayden Glass (junior) as Moonface Martin, Shannon Robinson (junior) as Hope Harcourt, Brendan Maharey (junior) as Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, and Kelly Baralt (junior) as Bonnie. Nearly 50 other students are involved on stage or behind the scenes in this classic musical comedy. “Anything Goes” is directed by Kevan Brown, with musical direction by Chris Powell, and tons of choreography by Maggie Gorman.
“Anything Goes” will run from April 14th through April 22nd. An opening night Gala on April 14th will include dinner, live music and the show.
