Shelby County Public Schools is built on a strong foundation of stable leadership, parent support, community involvement, and deep commitment to providing a quality education for our students. This foundation provides the support for our vision: Kentucky’s Exemplary School District. Our mission is: Dedicated to Excellence and Success for All.

We provide quality instruction to students at four Preschool sites, six elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools (as of August 2010). Parents can determine which school their child(ren) will attend through the Attendance Directory in the navigation bar on the left (under Students/Parents).

SCHS graduation June 12

Shelby County High School graduation will be June 12 at 7 pm at the Frankfort Civic Center, according to Principal Eddie Oakley. The decision was based on input from students and parents, after an amended school calendar set the last day of school for students as June 8 and an alternative graduation date had to be scheduled. The annual Project Graduation event will take place at SCHS after the commencement program.
