We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called opportunity and its first page is New Year's Day. - Edith Lovejoy Pierce
New Year’s Eve is a day of excitement and anticipation for the blank slate of opportunities that comes with a new year. We have such high hopes and dreams for all that lies in wait. Before moving forward with 2017, I would be remiss if I didn’t take the chance to look back and reflect on the year that is coming to a close. 2016 has been a year of personalization for our Rocket Family. SCHS Rockets are succeeding in dual credit courses at JCTC. Students are taking control of their learning and breaking through the traditional constraints of time, place, pace, and path to mastery. SCHS has students taking advantage of opportunities at Collins High School, the Area Technology Center and Big Picture Learning Academy. Rockets are finding and following their passions. The commitment to innovation and greatness from our students, staff, and school overwhelms me with joy and appreciation.
Welcome 2017! We anticipate the accelerating change that lies ahead. We will continue to take risks, re-think, re-structure, re-vamp, and create the most amazing high school experience for SCHS Rockets. In challenges we will find opportunity, at road blocks we will find alternate routes, with mistakes we will find learning, and in rough terrain we will find perseverance. I can’t wait to see ALL that the ROCKETS do in 2017! #LoveBLUELiveGOLD
