West Middle’s annual Meet and Greet Night from 6 to 7:30. This is a night for the parents and students of incoming sixth-graders (who are currently in fifth grade) Class of 2019, to visit the school, meet the staff, and get some questions answered through a sneak peek at “all things sixth grade! There will be tours, activities, question/answer sessions, cookies and drinks, and prizes. |

Rebeca Chavez was showcased on the Painted Stone Elementary morning news telecast April 18... when Superintendent James Neihof aannounced she was the elementary student winner of an iPad 2, she beamed. Rebeca’s name was drawn from among all elementary students in all six schools who had perfect attendance, no tardy notices and no discipline referrals.
Another iPad 2 will be presented to a student in grades 6-12 as the secondary school winner for having perfect attendance March 12 to April 6. |

KYKY Retired Teachers Association/AARP Grandparent Essay winner is Caeli Harp from Painted Stone Elementary. She is in she is in Mrs. Pickens’ homeroom while Nick Edwards is her writing teacher. Coordinator Marie Wright said, “The winner last year was from Mr. Edwards' room too! I'm very pleased at the effort put forth by Nick! Obviously he's doing something right to have two winners in a row!” Caeli will be honored at the Shelby County Retired Teachers meeting June 7. |
