Due to the alignment of the 8th grade to middle school accountability, both parent and teacher nominations and elections to the Shelby County West Middle School SBDM council must be redone to ensure that all students, parents and teachers have the opportunity for representation. Therefore, the WMS PTSO is now seeking parent nominations to serve as parent representatives on the WMS SBDM from July 1, 2013-June 30, 2014. Nominations are open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade parents. Nominations will be accepted through next Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Once nominations are received and confirmed, nominees’ biographies will be available on the Warrior Weekly and the West Middle School Website for parent review. Elections for parent representatives to the WMS SBDM will be held on Friday, June 21st at WMS and any parent of a WMS 6th or 7th grader or a Collins’ 8th grader are encouraged to vote.
If you are interested in serving on the WMS SBDM council or have any questions, please contact PTSO President Richard Baltzell via email at
