SCHOOL-BASED DECISION MAKING Wright Elementary
Parent/Guardian Involvement Policy
Policy Statement: Parent/Guardian Involvement
EXPECTATIONS FOR PARENT INVOLVEMENT: Wright Parent Involvement policy recognizes the parent as the child’s first and most important teacher. Their involvement is essential for the success of the child. Wright Elementary wants to strengthen the home-school partnership by encouraging parents to realize and fulfill that responsibility. Wright shall convene an annual meeting to which all parents are invited and encouraged to attend. At this meeting the parents will be informed of Wright’s participation in the Title I schoolwide program. Information will be given about Title I. Wright Elementary will have parent/teacher conferences at which time the child’progress will be discussed and parents can discuss their concerns – these will take place according to the district calendar. Wright Elementary’s Family Resource Center will provide programs for parents that will enhance their knowledge of curriculum and involve them in their child’s education. Wright Elementary will include ideas from parents/guardians on parent/teacher/child involvement programs. Parents/guardians will be invited and encouraged to be part of SBDM Committees.
Below are the positive effects that the parent involvement can have on Wright Elementary:
We believe that through parent involvement that children can enter Wright Elementary to learn and leave to achieve.
