SCHOOL SCHEDULE Policy

Policy Statement:  School Master Schedule

EXPECTATIONS FOR Scheduling:

PURPOSE:  This policy is a determination of the master schedule for the school day and week.  It is subject to local board policy for the beginning and ending times; district school calendar; and transportation.

Procedure:  The master schedule of the school day shall be proposed by the Related Arts team in the manner they believe will best promote student success.  Criteria shall include:

• Promoting teacher effectiveness to the fullest.
• Reflecting appropriate use of the instructional day.
• Arrange time for instructional planning.
• Complying with all federal, state and board regulations.
• Complying with individual contracts and job descriptions.
• Supporting the school’s instructional goals and program/service concepts.

Monitoring:  The principal shall monitor the school’s schedule and recommend changes whenever necessary to improve the schedule and meet student instructional time.
