• Biography for Dr. Sally Sugg, Superintendent of Shelby County Public Schools: 

    Dr. Sally Sugg has served Kentucky public education for over 40 years.  Her teaching career began at the middle and high school levels, and her administrative career has included serving as an elementary principal, a high school principal, and as an Assistant Superintendent. Dr Sugg has worked in Henderson, McCracken, and Shelby counties, and has served as Shelby County Public Schools’ superintendent since July 2020.

     

    Dr. Sugg has also worked for the Kentucky Department of Education as a both Highly Skilled Educator and as the Associate Commissioner for Leadership and School Improvement.  While working for KDE, Sugg was the recipient of the Kentucky Board of Education’s Kevin M. Noland Award for “significant service to Kentucky’s public schools, and for providing inspiration for education.”  Sugg has also served as an adjunct professor for the University of the Cumberlands and Murray State University.  During a brief retirement, Dr. Sugg also served four years as an elected school board member in Henderson County and as Interim
