    What is FAFSA? FAFSA stands for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Seniors complete the application in order to eligible for federal and state grants, loans and work study.

    When can I apply for FAFSA? Seniors can apply for FAFSA after October 1st of their senior year. You want to complete the FAFSA during the month of October since state funds typically run out within the month.

    What factors contribute to scholarship decisions? For most scholarships awarded by colleges and universities, schools will first look at student's GPA and ACT score to see if the student qualifies for scholarships. Then they will look at extracurricular activities, volunteer work and leadership roles.
