Procedural Safeguards explain the rights afforded by federal law to parents and their children with disabilities and also provide multiple ways for schools and parents to resolve disagreements. Parents receive a written copy and oral explanation as part of the Admissions and Release Committee (ARC) process and may ask the ARC Chair at their child's school for a written copy at any time. Parents may also contact Michelle Oakley, Director of Exceptional Child Services, or Robert Hughes, Exceptional Child Services Coordinator, at 502-647-0210 with questions regarding their parent rights.
