CVAC Critical Thinker Painting
Comprehensive Visual Art Students gifted Shelby County High School with the first Profile of a Graduate painting. Until the series of six is complete each CVAC class will work with students from another content area to generate visual ideas for the Profile of a Graduate competencies. Through this project students take ownership for interpreting the competencies and communicating them to other students through a collaborative piece of art.
Students focused on proportion, depth of field and value to create realism in a variety of subjects.
Pen & Ink
Drawing students experimented with technique and the limitations of pen nibs and india ink to create drawings of various subjects and styles.
Students were required to apply proportion but were free to experiment with syle in order to best express or narrate a personal message.
Soft and Hard Slab Methods
Students followed the correct methods to create the slab vessels, but were required to sculpt and/or carve creative details.
