Welcome to Cultivate, our Shelby County K-12 virtual learning academy!
The Cultivate Virtual Learning Academy is an independent learning pathway for students currently enrolled in Shelby County Public Schools. (If you are not enrolled yet at SCPS, contact your local home school first.)
For students grade K-5, the experience is different; they have a certified elementary teacher who schedules both synchronous and asynchronous online learning opportunities every day, all day.
For more information on Cultivate, please click here for Slides we used at a June 17, 2021 informational meeting.
If you are interested in applying for Cultivate, you can pick up and submit a hard copy application at our Central Office or submit your application online.
The purpose of Cultivate is to provide highly motivated, independent working students the opportunity to accelerate their class and credit completion and/or early graduation.
Is this a good fit for me?
Successful students participating in Cultivate demonstrate the following characteristics:
Strong study skills
Students seeking accelerated credit accumulation
Independent working students
Previous successful school experience
**Once you have completed the application and we have collected the required documents, Mrs. Caytie Burgin- our program Learning Facilitator- will contact you and schedule your interview.
Feel free to contact Mrs. Shelley Mattmiller (our school counselor) or Mrs. Caytie Burgin (our Learning Facilitator) if you have any questions!
