At the January 10th board meeting, board members approved the redistricting plan put forth by the committee.  Board Chair, Andrew Cline thanked the members of the committee and Mr. Mike Clark, Director of Student Services, for their time and effort.  He reiterated that it is not an easy topic and that he is also grateful to community members who use their voice in public forums.

In the approved plan, students entering grades 5, 11, or 12 affected by redistricting to start the 2019 - 2020 school year shall be eligible to remain in the school in which he or she was enrolled at the conclusion of the 2018 - 2019 school year with Principal and Director of Pupil Personnel(Student Services) approval.  Redistricting exceptions shall also be granted to siblings who currently attend or will attend the same school prior to the older pupil's completion of the schools. Students, including siblings, granted redistricting exceptions shall be eligilbe for an out of attendance waiver annually through the completion of that school's level

Mr. Cline stated, "I stress a personal desire that Mr. Clark be empowered to help those who want to finish at their current high school. This plan allows for interpretation to the benefit of the students.  Where there are hardships, help those students find what is best for a fantastic education.  Help those students who want to finish their education at that building."

Michael Clark, the Director of Student Services, will send information regarding the changes for next year to every home affected by the approved redistricting plan.  The waiver process will begin February 1st - February 28th, 2019.  Check the district website at under About Us and Redistricting, to find the letter from Mr. Clark and the waiver applications.  They will be posted by the end of the business day on Monday, January 14th.
