Heritage Library Book Character Pumpkin Contest!

This year the library is getting into the fall spirit by having a decorated pumpkin contest of your favorite book character or your favorite book. It’s easy and fun for the whole family.  Students may bring in a decorated pumpkin to the school library and enter it into our contest.  Pumpkins may be dropped off at the library between Monday, October 29th - Tuesday, October 30th between the hours of 7:15 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Read our contest rules carefully:

  • ABSOLUTELY NO CARVED PUMPKINS!!! Carved pumpkins will not be entered into the contest and will be sent home immediately.  Pumpkins may be decorated with paint or markers, hot-glued accessories, etc.
  • Pumpkins should represent a favorite book or book character.  On the entry form you must write the title and author of the book.
  • This is a home project or you can come to the Paint Your Pumpkin Open Art Studio with Ms. Murphy on Oct. 15th here at school, but pumpkins should be done mostly by the students. Parents may assist.
  • Do not write your name anywhere on the pumpkin. We don’t want the judges to know who created which pumpkin!
  • PRIZES  donated by the PTO will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place for following categories:  Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th , Staff, and Family*

*The Family category is for families that have more than one child at our school and would like to submit one decorated pumpkin for the whole family.

Pumpkins need to be taken home on November 1st.  Any pumpkin remaining after this day will be discarded.
