Mr. Chase Noffsinger Joins SCHS as the new Theatre Director

Mr. Noffsinger is from Southern Kentucky and graduated from the University of Kentucky. He began his first four years teaching in the metro Nashville school district and then decided to move back to the bluegrass region. During the pandemic, he worked for Fayette County public schools before moving back to Shelbyville, Kentucky.

Mr. Noffsinger started doing theatre in his hometown, Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and has loved it since he was a kid. He started at UK as a Theatre Arts Administration major and completed 21 hours in theatre before deciding his dream was to teach history and focus on youth theatre. After graduating college, Mr. Noffsinger decided to combine his love of history and theatre by teaching history during the day and directing shows after school.

Mr. Noffsinger wants to create a theatre program where students gain professional and artistic experience. He wants his students to gain skills that will help them be successful in collegiate theatre while encouraging students to take risks and be creative. His passion is that students will learn how to give back to their community through live theatre so they can make an impact on the people around them. He is excited to get to work and has currently started preparing for their winter play It’s a Wonderful Life and he has been prepping for their spring musical which is going to be The Sound of Music.
