Steve Kingsolver to Lead SCHS Baseball

(Shelbyville, KY) Steve Kingsolver is ready to develop an identity for SCHS Baseball by maximizing the footprint of the program and building a strong brand, BE SHELBY COUNTY! Steve resides in Shelbyville with his wife, Paula Kingsolver, a Shelbyville native and art teacher for Wright Elementary, and his middle school son, Noah. 

Steve played high school baseball in Spencer County and played American Legion Ball under the direction of Hoss Wiley. Coach Kingsolver attended Georgetown University where he played baseball and then coached, at which time he presented  at the National Coaches Convention with Coach Hinerman. He has experience as a private hitting coach and volunteer coaches in multiple youth sports at Clear Creek Parks. Moreover, Mr. Kingsolver helped start and continues to build the Shelby County Middle School feeder baseball program.

Regarding the Shelby County High School program, Coach Kingsolver said, “I want to foster a culture of commitment among the players -- commitment to the process of getting better every day, commitment to disciplining the mind. Success breeds confidence.”

As far as working with his coaching staff, Coach Kingsolver expects a high level of discussion on what they want to achieve. Frequent meetings and communicating the message of the SCHS Baseball program are top priority. He expects his staff to lead by example.
