Michael Clark Announced as Principal of MLCHS for 2020 - 2021 School Year

Michael Clark has served in many roles for Shelby County.  Starting as a PE teacher and Boys' Basketball coach at Shelby County High School, as assistant principal and principal at Collins High School and then moving to the Director of Student Services at the Central Office, Mr. Clark knows and loves Shelby County.

He was excited to take the role of interim principal in January of 2020 when Dr. Ellison resigned to take another position. Having served in administration at Collins previously, Mr. Clark knows the school, he knows the students and the staff.  As the SBDM of Collins searched for a new principal, the COVID - 19 situation made it difficult to conduct a search and complete the interview process.  Therefore, the SBDM and Dr. Neihof, Superintendent of SCPS, asked Mr. Clark to continue in his role as acting principal for the next school year to provide continuity and consistency.  The SBDM will continue it's search in the next school year.

We are excited for Mr. Clark to continue on as Principal of Martha Layne Collins High School and thankful for his service.

Mr. Clark resides in Shelby County with his wife, Rebecca, son, Isaac, and daughter, Taylor.
