Shelby County Welcomes New Workforce Development Coordinator
(Shelbyville,KY) Elizabeth Ernspiker has joined us as the new Workforce Development Coordinator for Shelby County. The WDC serves as a liaison between the school district and local business and industry. The focus of the position is to place high school students into work-based learning opportunities, and the goal is for those students to receive real life experience in a field that interests them. Elizabeth brings extensive experience she gained while serving as a Program Manager with Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana. As a Program Manager she acted as a liaison between schools and the business community to educate and prepare students to ensure they have the tools needed for a successful future.
Elizabeth is a graduate of Bellarmine University where she earned a BA in Liberal Studies. Elizabeth’s commitment to the community is apparent through her volunteer efforts with the Bardstown Nelson County Chamber’s Young Leaders, CASA, and providing mentorship through Bullitt County Lady Leaders. Additionally, she is a graduate of Bullitt County Chamber of Commerce Leadership program, has served on various committees, and logged countless hours in the classroom teaching and working with students.
Elizabeth is a Kentucky native residing in Bullitt County. When away from work she enjoys spending time with her husband, Eric, and their four children. Elizabeth enjoys exploring the outdoors, kayaking, and loves adventure.
