Northside Early Childhood Center and East Middle School have been recognized by the Kentucky Collaborative for Families and Schools and the Kentucky Department of Education as Family Friendly certified.

Emily Swindler, Principal of Northside expressed excitement that Reidland Elementary was honored with this certificate.
"We are so excited to receive the FamilyFriendly Early Care and Education Certification. It demonstrates Northside's commitment to building genuine family partnerships that foster positive relationships and two-way communication that builds trust and shared responsibility with Northside families. NECC staff understand the importance of partnering with our families to make sure it has a positive impact on student success at every level."
Principal Josh Rhodes (East Middle) stated, "At East Middle, relationships are important! We value positive relationships between our school and the families of our students. It has been our goal to increase opportunities for family engagement and collaboration. It is truly an honor to receive the Family Friendly Schools Certificate!"
Family Friendly Certificates are awarded by a working group of families, educators, and community organizations within the Kentucky Collaborative for Families and Schools, which is focused on increasing open communication, learning opportunities, and shared decision-making power across the Kentucky education system. The Kentucky Department of Education tracks the number of certified Family Friendly schools as a measurement for improving family and community engagement in Kentucky schools.
