Shelby County Schools Announces Leadership Shifts for 2025-2026: Familiar Faces, New Roles Shelby County, KY — Dr. Josh Matthews, Superintendent of Shelby County Schools, has announced strategic leadership changes for the 2025-2026 school year, highlighting the strength and depth of the district’s administrative team. Two trusted leaders, Andy Moore and Jill Tingle, will step into new roles designed to enhance operations and support across the district. Jill Tingle will move into the role of Associate Superintendent, where she will continue to supervise many of her current departments while also assisting Dr. Matthews with the day-to-day operations of the district. Her expanded role is designed to increase district visibility and responsiveness at the school level. Andy Moore, who currently serves as the district’s Director of Human Resources, will transition to the role of Assistant Superintendent of Operations. In this new capacity, Moore will oversee Human Resources and Facilities, bringing with him a strong background in both personnel leadership and construction. In announcing the changes, Dr. Matthews stated: Mrs. Tingle is a tremendous asset to this district and a trusted advisor to me. She has done a great job in many different roles within the district including a highly successful principalship. She will continue to be involved with facilities just as I am, but she will also be adding additional responsibilities related to the day-to-day operations of the district. It is really important to me that we are visible in schools, and creating the Associate Superintendent position will help ensure we are visible and supportive at the school level." "I am so fortunate to have such a strong leadership team throughout the district. My executive cabinet—Mike Clark, Andy Moore, Adam Hicks, Susan Barkley, and Jill Tingle—are the best in the state. Mr. Moore brings a wealth of knowledge to the Assistant Superintendent position. He has been a successful administrator at every level in education. Over the past few years, Mr. Moore has done a tremendous job as Human Resources Director, and I do not doubt that he is ready for this new challenge. Additionally, he has a background in construction that he will bring to this new role." These changes reflect Shelby County Schools’ continued commitment to strategic leadership, operational excellence, and strong support for students, staff, and school communities.
