Shelby County Public Schools is proud to share that Shelby Academy principal Ben Roberts has been named President-Elect of the State Agency Children School Administrators Association (SACSAA).

Mr. Roberts will represent SACSAA on the Kentucky Educational Collaborative for State Agency Children (KECSAC) Interagency Advisory Group, collaborating with state agencies such as the Kentucky Department of Education, Juvenile Justice, Community-Based Services, and Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. His leadership will help shape policy and practice across Kentucky’s KECSAC programs which serve over 8,000 students annually.

Ben has led Shelby Academy for four years. Shelby Academy comprises two schools: Ascension, an alternative school setting, and Cultivate, an online school setting. Mr. Roberts also oversees the General Educational Development (GED) program for our district. Before serving as a principal, he was the Behavior Consultant for Shelby County Public Schools. Within that role, he oversaw the district’s behavior programs, including Positive Approach to Student Support (PASS), as well as the highly structured behavior units.

We congratulate Mr. Roberts on this well-deserved role and recognition, and look forward to the positive influence he will bring to state-level educational initiatives on behalf of Shelby County! His commitment to meeting the diverse needs of our students has made a lasting impact on the lives of many in our community.
