Today we honor Martha Layne Collins: a proud Shelby County resident, graduate of Shelbyville High School, a former teacher, Kentucky’s first and only female governor, and the namesake of our Titans. Governor Collins was a steadfast supporter of Shelby County, its students, and pushing education forward across the entire state; always leading by example and showing just how high our young people can reach. It is an honor to be part of her lasting legacy, and we will continue to carry forward her vision and good work for generations to come. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends during this time.

College & Career Wednesday at SCHS! Every Wednesday, SCHS opens the doors to amazing opportunities for our students during lunch! Today, we were thrilled to welcome Western Kentucky University, the U.S. Navy, Bluegrass Community & Technical College, and Kentucky State University.

Due to rainfall and current road conditions in certain areas of Shelby County, SCPS parents can come to school at any time to check their student(s) out of school. This is for all grade levels.

Tonight we celebrated our incredible senior athletes who have given their heart, hustle, and leadership to Rocket Soccer. These young men and women have left their mark on Shelby County High School both on and off the field. Thank you for the dedication, teamwork, and spirit you’ve shown through every practice, every game, and every moment of representing the Rockets. Your legacy will live on in the program, and we can’t wait to see the amazing things you’ll do next.
