Shelby County Public Schools is pleased to announce that Victor Malone will be transitioning into the role of Digital Media Specialist at the Central Office. Victor previously served as Public Relations Assistant, working alongside longtime PR Coordinator Cyndi Chaney.
Victor is a Shelby County native, graduating from Martha Layne Collins High School in 2019 before going on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media and Broadcasting from Northern Kentucky University. With both a background in media and a strong connection to the community, Victor brings a unique perspective to the district’s communications team.
This transition reflects the district’s growing need for more dynamic and engaging digital communication. As families, staff, and community members increasingly rely on digital platforms for updates, news, and storytelling, this role will help SCPS meet those expectations effectively.
In his new role, Victor will focus on creating digital content, managing the district website and social media channels, and supporting digital communication tools such as Rooms, the district’s parent-teacher messaging app. “I want to make sure the stories of our students and staff doing awesome things are being told,” Malone said. “To elevate how we amplify their voices and their successes. I’m so excited to make that happen.”
Superintendent Dr. Josh Matthews shared his support for the move: “Victor has proven to be a highly valuable asset to our district this year. He demonstrates true expertise in digital media production and consistently exhibits a strong work ethic. His positive attitude and willingness to support all schools and departments make him an indispensable member of our organization.
Victor will be working closely with Director of Communications Josh Rhodes as part of the continued effort to enhance the district’s outreach and storytelling through digital platforms.
