There are several sports tryouts occurring for East Middle students today. Please see below for important update information:
GIRLS SOCCER: Tryouts at East Middle right after school from 3:45-5:30 pm. Parents should pick players up IN FRONT of East Middle at 5:30 pm. Today is the final day of tryouts for Girls Soccer.
BOYS SOCCER: Tryouts at East Middle right after school from 3:45-6:00 pm. Parents should pick players up IN FRONT of East Middle at 6:00 pm. Today is the final day of tryouts for Boys Soccer.
MIDDLE SCHOOL BASEBALL: Tryouts on Softball Field #1 at Clear Creek Park starting at 4:30 pm. Since this tryout does not occur at East Middle or at a Rocket Lane facility, students should NOT stay after school! Parents will need to transport their students to Clear Creek Park for the tryout! There will be no bus transportation available & it is NOT within walking distance. All baseball players should ride their bus or be picked up by a parent at dismissal and then be taken to Clear Creek Park.
HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Tryouts are today and tomorrow from 4:00-6:00 at the SCHS Softball Field behind Milestone/Shelby Academy (JCTC). This is the field behind the new SCHS track. HS softball tryouts are open to middle school girls in grades 7 & 8 only per KHSAA guidelines. If students plan to walk to the tryout, they MUST have a parent note giving them permission. Students may not walk from school at dismissal without a parent note and admin approval.
MIDDLE SCHOOL SOFTBALL Tryouts have been postponed. We will reach out with the new tryout information once it is available.

SCHS Softball Tryouts have been rescheduled for Feb. 25-26. See information in attached flier. Tryouts are open to girls in 7th-12th grades.
Tryouts for Boys & Girls Soccer will take place today & tomorrow after school! Pickup time for girls is 5:30 pm; 6:00 for boys. Open to 6th-8th grades. Current KHSAA Sports Physical required.

East Middle will be having a Breakfast Food Drive with all donations going to the Touched Twice Clinic. We need your help collecting oatmeal, toaster pastries, breakfast bars and fruit and grain bars. Please bring in your donations to your FRYSC office. Thank you!

Due to inclement weather, all SCPS activities are cancelled for today. This includes all athletic practice sessions for today.
Soccer Conditioning for today has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Tryouts for boys & girls soccer will be Monday & Tuesday, Feb. 24-25 after school. A current KHSAA sports physical is required. Tryouts are open to students in the 6th-8th grades. Any conditioning sessions for this week will be dependent on weather. Stay tuned.
Today's open field/conditioning session for Boys Soccer has been cancelled. Tomorrow, Tuesday, 2/18, both Boys & Girls soccer will have conditioning sessions from 3:45 - 5:30 pm. A current KHSAA sports physical is required. Please bring tennis shoes for running indoors.
Middle School Softball Tryouts will take place on Feb. 19 & 21 from 5:30-7:30 pm at Southside Elementary. There will be a parent meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 7:00 pm in the Southside Cafeteria. Students in 5th-8th grades are welcome. A KHSAA sports physical is required.

Boys Soccer will host Open Field/Conditioning on Monday, Feb. 17 and Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 3:45-6:00 pm. Tryouts will be on Feb. 20-21. Both days of tryouts are required. A current KHSAA sports physical is required for participation. Only students in 6th-8th grades are invited.
Girls Soccer will host optional Open Field/Conditioning sessions today & tomorrow from 3:45-5:30 pm. Today's session will take place in the gym. A current KHSAA Sports Physical is required to participate. Only students in 6th-8th grades are invited to attend.
Shelby County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, February 11th due to approaching inclement weather. No school.
