📚✨ African American Read-In Day at Shelby County High School ✨📚 Shelby County High School was proud to celebrate African American Read-In Day, a meaningful event focused on literacy, culture, and the powerful contributions of African American authors and leaders. We extend our sincere appreciation to our community partners for their support in making this event impactful for our students. A special thank you to Kendra Aloo for her leadership in organizing and guiding this important experience. We are especially grateful to Brenda Jackson, Shelby County Board Member, for her support and presence at this event. We also thank KC, his sister, and Les Harris for sharing their time, voices, and stories with our students. Your words and engagement made a lasting impression. Additionally, we appreciate Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. for showing up in support of our school community and helping make the day even more special. Events like these strengthen our commitment to literacy, representation, and meaningful community partnerships. Spirit Week

Congratulations to our Dance Team on their outstanding accomplishment! Your hard work, dedication, and Rocket pride truly shine in every performance. We are incredibly proud of the way you represent Shelby County High School. Thank you to our coaches for their leadership and support in helping our students succeed.

We are pleased to announce that Rocket Lane Theatre Camp will host an outstanding production of The Music Man for kids, camp is scheduled for June 8th-12th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with pick-up starting at 1:30 PM. Ages: K-6 Show performances are set for June 12th at 6:00 PM and June 13th at 1:00 PM. Further details regarding registration and audition procedures will be shared in April. We kindly invite parents interested in volunteering for costume design to participate, as this period piece presents unique challenges for our young performers. This marks our third summer camp and our FIRST classic Golden Age Broadway production, which we anticipate will be an amazing experience!!! 🎭🎭🚀🚀🚀

🚀 February is Career & Technical Education Month! 🎓 This week, Kentucky FCCLA State First Vice President Danae Owens proudly represented Career & Technical Education during CTSO Leadership Days at the State Capitol! Danae shared the importance of FCCLA and spoke about her own personal journey — highlighting how CTE programs empower students with leadership skills, confidence, and real-world readiness.
