The hard work of the Class of 2026 has paid off! 💸 2026 SCPS graduates have earned over $7 MILLION in scholarships!!! This number says a lot about the kind of group this is: focused, driven, and ready for what’s next.

We are SO PROUD of this class, and can't wait to see what they accomplish! 🎓

We are aware of traffic closures along I-64 eastbound that may impact transportation throughout the rest of the afternoon. Our Transportation Department is actively working to ensure all students are transported as safely and efficiently as possible.

Please be advised that delays may occur. We encourage families to monitor the Stopfinder app for real-time updates from our Transportation team.

Today, May 8th, is "School Communicators Day"! Coincidentally, this includes us, the ones typing out this post you're reading right now! But we want to shout out all the communicators in SCPS that help keep our community in-the-know! Many staff (and students!) go above and beyond to share all the amazing things going on in our schools❤️

We are writing to let our community know one of our buses was involved in an injury-free, minor accident this afternoon on Lagrange Road. All students onboard and the driver are safe, and first responders as well as SCPS leadership are on the scene.

Simpsonville Elementary students received an out-of-this-world visit today from 2 NASA engineers! 🚀🌑

Alora (an SCPS alumni!) and Zac found some to get away from their jobs at the Artemis Control Center to talk with the Bobcats about NASA and the Artemis program. They shared what their jobs at NASA look like every day, and students got to ask plenty of questions about space travel and the careers they could get at NASA when they grow up! 🧑‍🔬

Thank you Alora and Zac for this AMAZING opportunity!

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK 2026❤️

This week, we celebrate the educators who show up every single day for our students. They carry it with them long after the bell rings, doing everything in their power to build meaningful connections, to show students they care, and to prepare them for life beyond the classroom, both academically and personally. This week, we encourage everyone in our Shelby County community to take a moment and show appreciation for our SCPS educators.

Teachers change lives. Our students could tell you about that one teacher who gets them more than anyone else. And if you asked our teachers, many would tell you they had that same one teacher – the person who showed them the power and purpose of education as a career. And you, reading this, probably have that one teacher who still comes to mind. 💙🍎 #TeacherAppreciationWeek #CompleteTheCircle
