Out of an abundance of caution and after conferring with the National Weather Service, there will be no school in SCPS today, Wednesday, January 21st due to below-freezing temperatures and snow/freezing precipitation expected to arrive during the morning commute.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from his example and work together to support every student. #MLKDay #CompleteTheCircle 🔵

We’re excited to kick off the new year together and look forward to seeing everyone back in class!
Merry Christmas from all of us here at SCPS! May your holiday be filled with joy, rest, and time with the people who matter most.

A combination of factors contributed to this decision. Morning temperatures and wind chills when students are at bus stops, along with many of our side roads in the county still being snow-covered, led us to make this decision.
Additionally, this ensures that we will not need to use more than two NTI days in a row moving forward this school year.
